SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jerry Paul Fordyce, who passed away on 
4August 2, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce was born in Southern Indiana to 
6Melvin and Thelma Fordyce on February 28, 1947; he graduated 
7from Greenville College, where he studied education and 
8business; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce taught in Hazel Crest; and then 
10turned his hobby into a career and worked for various landscape 
11companies; he retired from Allied Nursery, Inc.; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; he was 
13a lifelong Indiana University fan; he was completely committed 
14and dedicated to his family; he always demonstrated loyalty to 
15his friends, and he will be dearly missed; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce was preceded in death by his 
17parents; and his sister, Frieda Ford; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce is survived by his loving wife, Sue 
19(Heilstedt) Fordyce; his children, Lynn (Mike) Watson and Steve 
20Fordyce; his grandchildren, Haley and Bryan Watson, Emma

1Fordyce, Brennan Hoffman, and Ryan Strunga; his sister, Melody 
2(Michael) Sizemore; and his numerous nieces and nephews; 
3therefore, be it
  
  
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Jerry Paul Fordyce, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Jerry Fordyce as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
