SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy "June" Dunseth Myers of
4Springfield, who passed away on August 16, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, June Myers was born in Waverly to Charles Edward
6Dunseth Sr. and Frances Eleanor (Johnson) Dunseth on June 29,
71932; she graduated from MacMurray College and earned a
8master's degree from California State University in Long Beach;
9she married Louis Shaver Myers in 1958; and
 
10    WHEREAS, June Myers taught in the Long Beach, California
11school system and also for District 186 in Springfield; she was
12employed by the Illinois Department of Public Health in the
13HIV/AIDS section for over 15 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, June Myers volunteered at Memorial Medical
15Center; she was involved in many organizations, including the
16Springfield Art Association, Grateful Daughters Circle of the
17King's Daughters, the Historic Sites Commission of
18Springfield, the Ceramics and Crafts Club, and the Junior
19League of Springfield; and
 
20    WHEREAS, June Myers was preceded in death by her parents;
21and her siblings; and

1    WHEREAS, June Myers is survived by her husband, Louis; her
2daughter Julie (Cass) Dunseth Myers Casper; her sons, Stephen
3(Terri Blake) Dunseth Myers and Scott (Erica M.) Dunseth Myers;
4and her grandchildren, Myers (Christine) Dill, Blake E. Myers,
5John W. S. Myers, Jake M. Myers, and Emiko M. Myers; therefore,
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dorothy "June" Dunseth Myers, and we extend our sincere
10condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
11her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of June Myers as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
