2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Richard J. Cremeens of Joliet, who passed |
4 | | away on August 25, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was born to Clarence "Bus" and |
6 | | Helen Cremeens on February 23, 1955; he graduated from Joliet |
7 | | Catholic High School in 1973 and received his bachelor's degree |
8 | | in psychology from Lewis University in Romeoville in 1977, |
9 | | where he attended on a wrestling scholarship and was a member |
10 | | of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity; he earned a master's |
11 | | degree in education and guidance/counseling from Eastern |
12 | | Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky in 1986; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was a licensed mental health |
14 | | counselor at the Will County Mental Health Department; he |
15 | | focused on vulnerable children and adolescents; he would often |
16 | | work all day and be out on call in the evening in emergency |
17 | | departments across Will County; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was an avid fan of the Chicago |
19 | | Bears and Cubs and relished seeing the Cubs win the 2016 World |
20 | | Series; he was also a horse racing fan and enjoyed visiting |
21 | | with family at Kentucky Derby parties; his passion was his |
22 | | family, and he would say that his greatest accomplishment and |
