SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Pastor Gary Dewayne Armstrong of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on September 11, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Pastor Armstrong was born in Galesburg to Leonard 
6R. and Lorene Hickle Armstrong on May 17, 1952; he married 
7Sandra Schinckel in East Moline on October 7, 1989; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Pastor Armstrong was employed as a security guard 
9for PerMar Security Services; he then worked as  a salesman in 
10the paint department at Walmart in Moline for 11 years, 
11retiring in 2007; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Pastor Armstrong served as a pastor at the 
13Fellowship Temple Revival Center in Silvis; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Pastor Armstrong is survived by his wife, Sandra; 
15his children, Dale (Alma) Nipper, Candy (James) Wadkins, Scott 
16Nipper, Gary Armstrong Jr., and Elizabeth (Mathew) Bowers; his 
17brother, Donald (Angie) Armstrong; his sister, Vicki (Lynn) 
18Morris; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; 
19therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Pastor Gary Dewayne Armstrong, and extend our sincere 
3condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
4him; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to  the family of  Pastor Armstrong as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
