| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Raymond Burdette Carlson of Ottawa, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 6, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ray Carlson was born in Rockford to Sven Otto and |
| 6 | | Ellen (Hallen) Carlson on January 2, 1917; he married Vertie |
| 7 | | Mae Thomas at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard on November |
| 8 | | 22, 1947; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ray Carlson worked as a farmer in the Belvidere |
| 10 | | area and a milkman; he sold livestock feed, and worked in auto |
| 11 | | part sales until he bought the Tow Path House in Ottawa, where |
| 12 | | he refinished furniture until the age of 95; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Ray Carlson was a member of Trinity Lutheran |
| 14 | | Church in Ottawa, the American Legion Post #33, the Ottawa |
| 15 | | Moose Lodge, Odd Fellows, and The International Society of |
| 16 | | Apple Parer Enthusiasts; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ray Carlson was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 18 | | Vertie; and his siblings, William, Donald, and Wilmer Carlson, |
| 19 | | Audrey Meyer, Robert Johnson, and Adeline Rudeen; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ray Carlson is survived by his children, Lynn |
