2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Sarah Jane Beggs Coad of White Hall, who |
4 | | passed away on September 19, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was born in Chicago to Charles Norman |
6 | | and Elizabeth Corsa Beggs on January 20, 1935; she earned a |
7 | | Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from the University of |
8 | | Illinois in 1956; she married Morris K. Coad in Oak Park on |
9 | | June 17, 1956; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was a breakfast cook at MacMurray |
11 | | College for many years and was affectionately known as the |
12 | | Omelet Lady; she was co-owner of Coad Window Cleaning Service |
13 | | until her passing; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and |
15 | | the Carrollton Community Chorus; she participated in numerous |
16 | | productions of The Witness and loved attending Bible study; she |
17 | | was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in White Hall; |
18 | | she especially loved her family; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was preceded in death by her parents; |
20 | | her sister, Emily Esarey; and her brother, William Beggs; and
|
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Coad is survived by her husband, Morris; her |
2 | | daughters, Kathy (Lloyd) Brooks and Amy (Patrick) Devine; her |
3 | | sons, Martin (Jenny) Coad, Stuart (Judy) Coad, and Norman |
4 | | (April) Coad; her grandchildren, Jason, Jenny, Bradyn, Talon, |
5 | | and Larissa Coad, Ashley Dotzert, Corey McDannald, Leslie and |
6 | | Noah Brooks, Samantha, Chelsea, Alex, Taylor, and Hallie Coad, |
7 | | Katherine Burton, Olivia Cope, and Jason Devine; her ten |
8 | | great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gregory Beggs; |
9 | | therefore, be it

10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
12 | | Sarah Jane Beggs Coad, and extend our sincere condolences to |
13 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
14 | | further

15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
16 | | presented to the family of Sarah Coad as an expression of our |
17 | | deepest sympathy.
