SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Thomas M. "Tom" McGavock of Dundee, who 
4passed away on October 18, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom McGavock was born in Chicago to Robert and 
6Clara (Eastman) McGavock on September 26, 1931; he married 
7Louis E. Buehler on May 7, 1960; he was a proud veteran of the 
8United States Navy; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Tom McGavock was a Lithographer by trade; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Tom McGavock enjoyed life; he loved music and 
11dancing and a good game of bridge or bowling; he was an expert 
12at pitching horseshoes, and he was proud of his association 
13with the National Horseshoe Pitching Association; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Tom McGavock was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his brothers, Ronald and Phillip; and his sister, Sally; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Tom McGavock is survived by his wife of 57 years, 
17Lois; his children, Jeffrey (Deborah), Daniel (Lisa), David, 
18and Lori (Ed Romanek) McGavock; his grandchildren, Patrick 
19(Colleen), Timothy, Daniel, Allison, and Caroline; his 
20brother, Terry; and his nieces, nephews, and many good and

1faithful friends; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Thomas M. "Tom" McGavock and extend our sincere condolences to 
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Tom McGavock as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
