SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Charles Richard "Charlie" Luebke of 
4Moline, who passed away on October 30, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Luebke was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Charles 
6F. and Lydia Luebke on September 22, 1930; he graduated from 
7Keokuk High School and served as an air policeman in the United 
8States Air Force from December of 1950 to December of 1954; he 
9married Shirley J. White at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline 
10on June 1, 1952 and they lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana until 
11December of 1955, when they settled in Moline; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Luebke worked for the McLaughlin Body 
13Company in Moline for five years; he owned Avenue Rental Inc. 
14for 25 years until retiring in 1997 when he sold his business 
15to his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Tom; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Charles Luebke attended First Lutheran Church in  
17Moline; he loved playing golf with his son, Chuck, and they had 
18many good times on the golf course with their golfing buddies; 
19he was also active in local stock car racing, sponsoring the 
20"Avenue Rental" car; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Charles Luebke was preceded in death by his

1parents; four sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Melody K. 
2Luebke; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Charles Luebke is survived by his wife of 65 
4years, Shirley; his son, Charles S. "Chuck" (Caryn Rose); his 
5daughter, Tina L. (Tom) Voss; his grandchildren, Beth Luebke, 
6Kevin Luebke, and Caitlyn Gray; and four great-grandchildren; 
7therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
10Charles Richard "Charlie" Luebke, and extend our sincere 
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
12him; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to  the family of  Charles Luebke as an expression of 
15our deepest sympathy.
