| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Jerry BoBo of North Chicago, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on August 12, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was born in St. Louis, Missouri to | ||||||
| 6 | William Melvin Sr. and Byrdelee M. BoBo on June 6, 1954 and was | ||||||
| 7 | a resident of North Chicago and Lake County for almost 60 | ||||||
| 8 | years; he was baptized at the age of 10 at the "Old" Mt. Sinai | ||||||
| 9 | Baptist Church and was active in Sunday school, the youth | ||||||
| 10 | department, young ushers, vacation Bible school, Christmas | ||||||
| 11 | programs, Easter programs, and numerous other programs; he | ||||||
| 12 | attended Central School and Neal Junior High School, graduating | ||||||
| 13 | in 1968; he graduated from North Chicago Community High School | ||||||
| 14 | in 1972 and attended college in California; he married Lois | ||||||
| 15 | BoBo; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was on the cutting edge of the | ||||||
| 17 | implementation and adaptation of computer software and | ||||||
| 18 | computer programming for use in the workplace in the late 1970s | ||||||
| 19 | and 1980s; he worked for Ross Perot's company, Electronic Data | ||||||
| 20 | Systems (EDS) in Texas; later, he was employed by Abbott | ||||||
| 21 | Laboratories in North Chicago; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was a member of Mt. Sinai Institutional | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Baptist Church in North Chicago for 54 years; he loved fishing | ||||||
| 2 | with his brother, "Skip" BoBo, and his nephew, "Binky" BoBo; | ||||||
| 3 | throughout his entire life he loved tinkering with projects by | ||||||
| 4 | repairing, rehabbing, and remodeling small and large projects; | ||||||
| 5 | he was known for his kind heart and was always willing to help | ||||||
| 6 | other people; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 8 | his sister, Marlene "DoDo" Furlow; and his brother, Melvin L. | ||||||
| 9 | "Skip" BoBo; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo is survived by his daughters, Sydney | ||||||
| 11 | and Alexandria; his nephews, Melvin L. III, James R., Kerry L. | ||||||
| 12 | (Helen), and Larry (LaTanya); his loving sister-in law, Billie | ||||||
| 13 | D. BoBo: numerous cousins and great nephews and nieces; and a | ||||||
| 14 | community of very close friends and associates, including | ||||||
| 15 | George Gordon, Kevin Gross, and Mr. and Mrs. DelConte; | ||||||
| 16 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 19 | Jerry BoBo, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 20 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 22 | presented to the family of Jerry BoBo as an expression of our | ||||||
