SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Benedetto T. "Ben" Sorci of Crystal Lake, 
4who passed away on November 13, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Benedetto Sorci was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 
6to Ioppolito and Maria (D'Amato) Sorci on June 15, 1919; he 
7served in the United States Army during World War II in the 
8Pacific Theater with the 2nd Engineers Special Brigade 
9Amphibious; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Benedetto Sorci retired from the Teletype 
11Corporation after 35 years of employment; he was a member of 
12the Telephone Pioneers of America; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Benedetto Sorci was a past member of the Knights 
14of Columbus and a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic 
15Church in Cary; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Benedetto Sorci was preceded in death by his wife 
17of 66 years, Irene (Poweziak) Sorci; his parents; and his 
18brother, Jay Sorci; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Benedetto Sorci is survived by his children, Sandy 
20(Sam) Marino, Dale (Diana), Paul (Gail), and Roland Sorci; his

1grandchildren, April, Michael, Brian, Justin, Ian, Roxanne, 
2Dante, and Ariana; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be

4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Benedetto T. "Ben" Sorci, and extend our sincere condolences to 
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Benedetto Sorci as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
