| 3 | | learn of the death of Madisen Nicol Bertels of Staunton, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 21, 2017; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was born in Alton to Dean Bertels |
| 6 | | and Cassy Loflin on June 4, 2000; she was a senior at Staunton |
| 7 | | High School, where she was on the honor roll, a member of the |
| 8 | | homecoming court, and played on the girls' golf, softball, and |
| 9 | | basketball teams; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was planning on majoring in |
| 11 | | architectural design; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was loved and liked by all; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was preceded in death by her |
| 14 | | paternal grandmother, JoAnn Bertels, and her |
| 15 | | great-grandfather, Roy Cooper; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels is survived by her mother, Cassy |
| 17 | | Loflin; her father, Dean Bertels; her brothers, Dallas and |
| 18 | | Titan Bertels; her longtime boyfriend, Brylie Hassard; her |
| 19 | | paternal grandfather, Allen Dean Bertels; her maternal |
| 20 | | grandparents, Glen and Beverly Loflin; and several aunts, |
