2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Hugh Donald "Don" White of Coal Valley, |
4 | | who passed away on November 25, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Don White was born on his family farm in rural |
6 | | Coal Valley in Henry County to John Edward and Alda Hanson |
7 | | White on March 13, 1917; he married Martha Litchfield in Coal |
8 | | Valley on January 17, 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during |
9 | | World War II; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Don White worked as a welding supervisor at |
11 | | International Harvester in East Moline for 35 years, retiring |
12 | | in 1974; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Don White was an active member of First |
14 | | Presbyterian Church in Coal Valley, where he had been an elder, |
15 | | treasurer, and taught Sunday school; he was a former member of |
16 | | the Coal Valley Township Board and a former tax assessor for |
17 | | Coal Valley Township; he was a past master of Valley Lodge No. |
18 | | 547, AF & AM, and a current member of Eureka Lodge No. 69, AF & |
19 | | AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline, and Moline American |
20 | | Legion Post No. 246; he was instrumental in bringing Dad's Club |
21 | | Baseball to Coal Valley, where he coached for several years; he |
22 | | was a former Scout Master and belonged to the Isaac Walton |

2 | | WHEREAS, Don White held a lifelong devotion to his family; |
3 | | he loved all things outdoors, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and |
4 | | traveling, and bowled with his church bowling league for 20 |
5 | | years; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Don White was preceded in death by his wife, |
7 | | Martha, and seven siblings and their spouses; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Don White is survived by his children and their |
9 | | spouses, Bruce and Jodie White, Cheryl and Roberto Alleruzzo, |
10 | | and Richard and Cindy White; his grandchildren and their |
11 | | spouses, Teresa and Steve Bradley, Lisa and Jason Durbin, |
12 | | Shaylyn White and her fiance, Andrew Stewart, Terry and Chelle |
13 | | White, Troy and Valerie White, Todd and Chrystal White, |
14 | | Cristoforo and Becky Alleruzzo, Andrew White, and Adamo and |
15 | | Sara Alleruzzo; his great-grandchildren, John, Sam, and Joshua |
16 | | Bradley, Samantha and Joshua Durbin, Brady and Kristina White, |
17 | | Gavyn and Elethia White, Kylee and Mason White, Nico and |
18 | | Giovanni Alleruzzo, and Sofia and Finn Alleruzzo; and his |
19 | | sister-in-law, Shirley Harrison; therefore, be it

21 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 | | Hugh Donald "Don" White, and extend our sincere condolences to |
