|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth A. "Ken" Link of Godfrey, who |
4 | | passed away on December 17, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ken Link was born in Belleville to George and |
6 | | Grace (Winning) Link on August 18, 1946; he married Glenda Mary |
7 | | on September 24, 1964; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Ken Link retired from Boeing (McDonnell Aircraft) |
9 | | in January of 1999 after 32 years of service; he joined his |
10 | | wife working at their business, Picture This and More, in Alton |
11 | | for 23 years; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Ken Link held several offices in the Professional |
13 | | Picture Framers Association (PPFA), St. Louis Chapter and was |
14 | | President of the International PPFA for two years; he was a |
15 | | talented musician and drummer for DD REVIVAL, Bud Schulz's |
16 | | Can't Beat Experience Jazz Band, and the Lorain County |
17 | | Community College Jazz Band; he shared that interest with his |
18 | | son and grandson; he spent many summer vacations volunteering |
19 | | as percussion instructor with the Alton High School Marching |
20 | | 100; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Ken Link enjoyed golfing and volunteered at the |

1 | | Rolling Hills Golf Club during the summers; he enjoyed |
2 | | traveling, especially to England and France; he was a lifelong |
3 | | learner and loved computers and anything technical; he |
4 | | developed websites for several businesses and organizations; |
5 | | his latest interest was photography; he loved his family, |
6 | | missing very few birthdays, dance recitals, and sporting |
7 | | events; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Ken Link is survived by his wife of 53 years, |
9 | | Glenda; his children, Karen Walter (Keith), Denise Pritchard, |
10 | | and Christopher Link (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Katelyn |
11 | | Meyer (Andrew), Kelsie Walter, Carley Link U.S. Navy, Caleb |
12 | | Link, and Josephine Link; and his great-grandchildren, Audrey |
13 | | and Vincent Meyer; therefore, be it
|
14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Kenneth A. "Ken" Link, and extend our sincere condolences to |
17 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Ken Link as an expression of our |
21 | | deepest sympathy.
