| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Lydia Frances Krueger of Illinois City, |
| 4 | | who passed away on December 11, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frances Krueger was born in Illinois City to |
| 6 | | Arthur A. and Jessie B. Bendle Mewes on July 19, 1919; she |
| 7 | | attended The Juilliard School of Music in California; she |
| 8 | | served her country in the Women's Army Corps as a medical |
| 9 | | technician during World War II; she entertained patients by |
| 10 | | playing her accordion over the radio and on the medical units; |
| 11 | | she married John William Krueger in Muscatine on November 28, |
| 12 | | 1948; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Frances Krueger drove a school bus for Rockridge |
| 14 | | for 15 years; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Frances Krueger was a member of the Illinois City |
| 16 | | United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ |
| 17 | | for over 50 years; after moving to Sunnybrook, she continued to |
| 18 | | provide Sunday church music to the residents; her daughters, |
| 19 | | grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the loves of her |
| 20 | | life; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Frances Krueger was preceded in death by her |
