SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jerry White of Springfield, who passed away on December 20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jerry White was born in Springfield to George and Margaret Kiely White on November 21, 1937; he earned his bachelor's degree from Loyola University in 1960 and married Mary Ellen Bahl in Chicago on June 11, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Jerry White was a longtime realtor; he worked for the Department of Children and Family Services, where he founded the One Church and the One Child Adoption Program and served as Coordinator of Special Events and Public Information Officer; he was also a former director of the United Way in Morgan County; and

WHEREAS, Jerry White served as chairman of the Sangamon County Board of Review; he was a former candidate for State Senate and the Sangamon County Recorder's Office; he was president of the Sangamon County Republican Network and served as committeeman for the Gardner 1 Township; he was also a member of the Illinois and National Association of Realtors and was most recently appointed to the Property Tax Appeal Board; he was a member of Christ the King Parish; and

WHEREAS, Jerry White was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Norma Jean Yoggerst; and

WHEREAS, Jerry White is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; his children, Lynn A. Petty, Karen (Vince) Manoogian, and Mark; his grandchildren, Daniel Petty, Anna and Natalie Manoogian, and Max and Isabella White; and his great-grandchildren, James and William Petty; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jerry White, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry White as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
