2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Maggie Arseneau of Spring Grove, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on December 15, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was born in Chicago to Edward and | ||||||
6 | Arline (Lane) Dodge on April 15, 1946; she graduated from | ||||||
7 | Wilmot High School in 1964 and was selected as the Kenosha | ||||||
8 | County Fair Queen that same year; she married Richard "Baldy" | ||||||
9 | Arseneau in Wilmot, Wisconsin on April 1, 1967; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was a farmer and housewife for | ||||||
11 | over 50 years; she was a member of the Pure Milk Association, | ||||||
12 | Associated Milk Producers Inc., and the McHenry County Farm | ||||||
13 | Bureau; and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was a charter member of the | ||||||
15 | Richmond Trailblazers Snowmobile Club in 1971 and amassed over | ||||||
16 | 200,000 miles of snowmobiling during her time with the club; | ||||||
17 | she was a contributing editor to ILL Sno Magazine and won many | ||||||
18 | awards for her contributions; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau's first lab, Gus, was a loyal farm | ||||||
20 | dog and companion; her 2nd, Rocky, won numerous awards as a | ||||||
21 | novice in dog showing, including Dog World Awards in both the |

1 | U.S. and Canada; she joined the Wag Agility Club and her third | ||||||
2 | lab, Shadow, won honors in both obedience and agility; she | ||||||
3 | became one of the top instructors and now her 4th lab, Cruiser, | ||||||
4 | follows in their footsteps; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was a member of St. Peter's Church | ||||||
6 | of Spring Grove; she was a Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers | ||||||
7 | fan; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was preceded by her parents; her | ||||||
9 | sister, Susan Niles; and her brother, Edward Jr.; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau is survived by her husband of 50 | ||||||
11 | years, Richard; her sisters, Ruth (Bever) Morton and Christine | ||||||
12 | (Ed) Shaw; her brothers, John (Lorinda) and Ken (Linda) Dodge; | ||||||
13 | several nieces and nephews and their families; her | ||||||
14 | sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Gary) Freund; her brothers-in-law, | ||||||
15 | Bill (Mary Jane) and Jack (Susie) Arseneau; therefore, be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Maggie Arseneau, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
20 | further
