SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tara Latrice Brewer of Broadview, who passed away January 17, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was born in Melrose Park to Lacy Brewer Jr. and Hattie Brewer on August 25, 1972; she attended Roosevelt Elementary School in Broadview and graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood; she continued her education at Benedictine University, where she earned both her bachelor's degree in business administration and her Master of Business Administration; and

WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was employed by the Housing Authority of Cook County in Chicago, where she held several positions, including General Clerk, Office Assistant, Housing Specialist, and Housing Program, Manager, her most recent position; and

WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was elected Broadview Trustee in 2015, and she enjoyed participating in various community events and charity functions, including working with A&T Trucking Company to provide needy families in Pembrook with food, clothing, and medical supplies; she diligently worked to collect funds to help build the new Maywood Fine Arts Center; she also donated personal funds, in addition to volunteering, to help the Fine Arts Center's local events; and

WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was known as a mover and a shaker who never let grass grow under her feet; and

WHEREAS, Tara Brewer is survived by her parents; and her son, Dereon T. Brewer-Adams; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tara Latrice Brewer and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tara Brewer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
