| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Tara Latrice Brewer of Broadview, who |
| 4 | | passed away January 17, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was born in Melrose Park to Lacy |
| 6 | | Brewer Jr. and Hattie Brewer on August 25, 1972; she attended |
| 7 | | Roosevelt Elementary School in Broadview and graduated from |
| 8 | | Proviso East High School in Maywood; she continued her |
| 9 | | education at Benedictine University, where she earned both her |
| 10 | | bachelor's degree in business administration and her Master of |
| 11 | | Business Administration; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was employed by the Housing Authority |
| 13 | | of Cook County in Chicago, where she held several positions, |
| 14 | | including General Clerk, Office Assistant, Housing Specialist, |
| 15 | | and Housing Program, Manager, her most recent position; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was elected Broadview Trustee in 2015, |
| 17 | | and she enjoyed participating in various community events and |
| 18 | | charity functions, including working with A&T Trucking Company |
| 19 | | to provide needy families in Pembrook with food, clothing, and |
| 20 | | medical supplies; she diligently worked to collect funds to |
| 21 | | help build the new Maywood Fine Arts Center; she also donated |
| 22 | | personal funds, in addition to volunteering, to help the Fine |
