SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Sam Pettavino of Moline, who passed away 
4on January 17, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Sam Pettavino was born in Rock Island to Stephano 
6and Sarah Pettavino on February 1, 1921; he served in the 
7United States Army during World War II and earned the Bronze 
8Star and the Combat Infantry Badge during battles to liberate 
9the Philippines; he married Donna McMahon in Milan on December 
1026, 1969; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Sam Pettavino worked as a serviceman for Sears and 
12Roebuck Company; he retired in 1980; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Sam Pettavino was a member of the VFW and enjoyed 
14fishing and golfing; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Sam Pettavino was preceded in death by his 
16brother, Nick Pettavino; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Sam Pettavino is survived by his wife, Donna; 
18therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Sam Pettavino and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
3friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the family of Sam Pettavino as an expression of 
6our deepest sympathy.
