|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Vera Rasmusen of Huntley, who passed away |
| 4 | | on January 7, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was born in Huntley to Christ and |
| 6 | | Florence Ahrens on July 23, 1924; she graduated from Huntley |
| 7 | | High School in 1942 and married Hubert "Hughie" Rasmusen on |
| 8 | | June 16, 1943; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was a homemaker and worked for Dr. |
| 10 | | Thomas Forrest, who delivered her four children; she was also a |
| 11 | | receptionist at Woodstock Memorial Hospital; she started with |
| 12 | | COILS, Inc. in Huntley in 1966 in the factory, then moved to |
| 13 | | the receptionist position and retired in 2002 after 36 years |
| 14 | | with them; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was one of the longest members of |
| 16 | | the First Congregational Church in Huntley, where she was a |
| 17 | | Sunday school teacher; she was a member of the American Legion |
| 18 | | Auxiliary since 1960 and the Royal Neighbors of America; she |
| 19 | | enjoyed her front porch swing, western movies, big band music, |
| 20 | | and pictures of her great-grandchildren and pups; she was an |
| 21 | | avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bulls; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was preceded in death by her |
| 2 | | husband; her sons, Larry, Ronald, and Steven; her parents; and |
| 3 | | her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Henry Garlieb; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen is survived by her daughter, Sue |
| 5 | | (Dan) Fruin; her daughters-in-law, Marina and Dorie Rasmusen; |
| 6 | | her grandchildren, Dede (Kory) Larson, Ronald (Angie) Rasmusen |
| 7 | | Jr., Matthew (Jodi) Fruin, Nathen Fruin (Samantha Barickman), |
| 8 | | Peter (Ivy) Rasmusen, Stephanie (Dennis) Hutchinson, and Katie |
| 9 | | (Adam) Reeves; her great-grandchildren, Brent, Alex, Kylee, |
| 10 | | Kadeyn, Cayden, Colten, Tessa, Nicolette, Rylie, and Ryker; and |
| 11 | | several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 14 | | Vera Rasmusen, and extend our sincere condolences to her |
| 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 16 | | further
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to the family of Vera Rasmusen as an expression of |
| 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
