| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Leonard Doyle of Champaign, who passed |
| 4 | | away on January 25, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Doyle was born near Ivesdale to Margaret |
| 6 | | and Frank Boyle on November 13, 1928; at four weeks of age, |
| 7 | | after the death of his mother, he was adopted by his uncle and |
| 8 | | aunt, Mike and Julia Doyle; he married Loretto B. O'Connor at |
| 9 | | St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ivesdale on October 18, 1952; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Doyle worked at the Assembly Hall for 43 |
| 11 | | years and at Owens Funeral Home for over 20 years; he retired |
| 12 | | from Eisner-Jewel after 32 years of service and 17 years with |
| 13 | | the MTD; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Doyle's community involvement included 67 |
| 15 | | years at the Virginia Theatre; he was the co-founder of the |
| 16 | | Champaign Urbana Theatre Company (CUTC); for 65 years, he held |
| 17 | | numerous positions in the local and state councils of the |
| 18 | | Knights of Columbus and Squires; he was actively involved in |
| 19 | | the Champaign-Urbana Freedom Celebration for over 50 years; he |
| 20 | | also served as a Eucharistic Minister for Holy Cross Catholic |
| 21 | | Church for over 40 years; due to his love of people, he was |
| 22 | | never without a community project; and
