2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Joseph C. Pyatt, of Alton, who passed |
4 | | away on February 24, 2018; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was born in St. Louis to Earl and |
6 | | Olivia (Barbara) Pyatt on October 13, 1923; during World War |
7 | | II, he served as an airplane mechanic in the Pacific Theater |
8 | | and as a staff sergeant with the United States Marine Corp; he |
9 | | married Louise Hook on February 7, 1947; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt worked as a manager for Braun |
11 | | Automotive, later known as AID Inc., in Alton; he retired from |
12 | | St. Peters Hardware in Alton at the age of 89; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was a member of St. Mary's Catholic |
14 | | Church, a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, where he was a |
15 | | past faithful navigator; he was a part of the group who started |
16 | | the Saint Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary's and was an |
17 | | active member of the East End Improvement Association; and

18 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was preceded in death by his parents; |
19 | | his wife, Louise; his son, Greg Pyatt; and his granddaughter, |
20 | | Melissa Mcelyea; and
