| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Magdalen "Madge" Orth-Cerar of |
| 4 | | Carlinville, who passed away on February 10, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was born in Bushton, Kansas to |
| 6 | | Henry and Margaret (Finnin) Orth on February 24, 1918; she |
| 7 | | graduated from Bushton High School and received her nursing |
| 8 | | degree from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Salina, |
| 9 | | Kansas; she married David Cerar at the Little Chapel in the |
| 10 | | Woods on the Norfolk, Virginia Navel Air Station on November |
| 11 | | 10, 1943; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was the Director of Nursing at |
| 13 | | the old Macoupin County Nursing Home and a supervising nurse at |
| 14 | | the Carlinville Clinic and the old Carlinville Area Hospital; |
| 15 | | along with her husband, she owned and operated the Cerar Mink |
| 16 | | Ranch and the Carlin-Villa Motel; she was also the |
| 17 | | administrator for Lakeview Nursing Home; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was a member of Saints Mary and |
| 19 | | Joseph Catholic Church; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was preceded in death by her |
| 21 | | parents; her husband, Dave; her daughter, Jo-Dee; her brothers, |
