| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert S. "Bob" Redfern of Fairfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 3, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was born in Fairfield to Seth and |
| 6 | | Neomi Harris Redfern on December 7, 1933; he served in the |
| 7 | | United States Army during the Korean War and married Joyce |
| 8 | | Dobbs on March 16, 1954; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was a businessman; he owned and |
| 10 | | operated Redfern Wholesale in Fairfield for many years; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was president of the Illinois Forum; |
| 12 | | he was a former chairman of the Illinois Republican Party and a |
| 13 | | former state committeeman for Republican Party Congressional |
| 14 | | District #22; he was a member of the American Legion and VFW; |
| 15 | | he was of the Presbyterian faith; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 17 | | and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bob Redfern is survived by his wife, Joyce; his |
| 19 | | son, Robert S. (Gail) Redfern Jr.; his daughter, Pam (David) |
| 20 | | Bell; his sister, Patty Ewing; three grandchildren; and one |
