SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of John Lee Benson, who passed away on 
4February 24, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Benson was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on 
6February 20, 1945 and moved to Naperville in 1973; he proudly 
7served in U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, John Benson was a retired, self-employed 
9accountant whose many clients became life-long friends; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, John Benson was an active member of St. Raphael 
11Catholic Church for over 40 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, John Benson enjoyed playing golf, poker, hunting 
13with his son, and traveling with his family; he loved life and 
14lived it to the fullest; his generosity and compassion will be 
15greatly missed; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, John Benson is survived by his loving wife of 48 
17years, Sandy; his son, Garth; his daughter-in-law, Sereen; his 
18beloved granddaughter, Hadley; his sister, Vivian; his 
19brother-in-law, Bill Kanzmeier; and his springer spaniel, Ivy;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3John Lee Benson, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  John Benson as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
