| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Edward A. "Ed" Weaver of Bloomington, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 16, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Weaver was born in Lufkin, Texas to Dolph and |
| 6 | | Mary Ella Weaver on Valentine's Day in 1926; he volunteered for |
| 7 | | the U.S. Naval Air Corps after high school and was stationed in |
| 8 | | Chicago; he later attended Southern Methodist University, |
| 9 | | where he majored in electrical engineering and played for the |
| 10 | | golf team; he married Ivey Jo Land on September 8, 1950; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ed Weaver spent ten years traveling and |
| 12 | | researching his book, The 300 Year History and Genealogy of One |
| 13 | | Weaver Family; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ed Weaver loved to handicap horse races and owned |
| 15 | | several race horses; he enjoyed spending time with his buddies |
| 16 | | at the off track betting parlor; he was an avid golfer and |
| 17 | | enjoyed the game with his family and friends until his mid-80s; |
| 18 | | he and his wife enjoyed traveling; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ed Weaver is survived by his wife of 67 years, |
| 20 | | Ivey Jo; his children, David (Trish) and Mark (Cindy) Weaver; |
| 21 | | his grandchildren, Wendi Weaver, Braxton (Katie) Weaver, Tyler |
