| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William Lindsay Carroll of East Moline, |
| 4 | | who passed away on March 22, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll was born in East Moline to Taylor |
| 6 | | and Edith (Willburham) Carroll on June 9, 1950; he graduated |
| 7 | | from United Township High School; he then served in the United |
| 8 | | States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, California; |
| 9 | | he married Margaret Lyons in Rock Island on September 12, 1998; |
| 10 | | and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll worked as a Deputy Sheriff for |
| 12 | | Rock Island County and then as an officer for the East Moline |
| 13 | | Police Department; later, he refitted minivans with chairlifts |
| 14 | | for wheelchairs; he was then employed by Murphy Brothers until |
| 15 | | his retirement in 2013; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll was a car enthusiast; he enjoyed |
| 17 | | spending his winters in Florida, where he spent time rebuilding |
| 18 | | golf carts; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | parents; his sister, June Karlix; his brother, Craig Carroll; |
| 21 | | and his nephew, Christopher Karlix; and
