SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jack Coder of Hampton, who passed away on March 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Jack Coder was born in Moline to Harold William and Gertrude Marie (Duncan) Coder on July 8, 1930; he graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, where he was president of the senior class; he then graduated from Augustana College in 1952, where he was on the football team; he served in Korea in the United States Army; he married Beverly McNeal in Hampton on December 26, 1954; he completed his master's degree at the University of Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Jack Coder was employed by Moline School District No. 40 as a guidance counselor at Moline High School for 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Jack Coder was a charter member of the Hampton Historical Society and a member of the Blackhawk Retired Teachers Association; he enjoyed history and genealogy; and

WHEREAS, Jack Coder was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold "Bill" Coder, Clifford Coder and Bette Eggerichs; and

WHEREAS, Jack Coder is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children, Christopher McNeal (Marcelle) Coder, Tad W. Coder, and Ellie Coder (Daniel Kosminsky); his grandchildren, Hannah Coder, Claire Coder, Katee Coder, Jack B. Coder, Merry Coder (Dr. Kane Keller), Rebecca Kosminsky, and Christopher W. Kosminsky; his great-grandson, Maxwell Correa; his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Nelson; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jack Coder and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Coder as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
