SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank Joseph Kaucic, who passed away on March 18, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Frank Kaucic was born to Joseph and Rose (Brescak) Kaucic on August 17, 1926; he graduated from Mother of God Grade School in 1940 and Waukegan Township High School in 1944; he served in the Army Air Corp from February 1944 through November 1945; he married MaryAnn Rygiel on May 10, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Frank Kaucic retired from the United States Steel Corporation and The City of North Chicago Water Plant; and

WHEREAS, Frank Kaucic was President of the Local 2353 United Steelworkers Union; he was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Retired Steelworkers, and St. Joseph's #53 K.S.K.J.; he was a lector and commentator at Most Blessed Trinity-Queen of Peace Church for 50 years; he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and his nightly coffee; he will be remembered as an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Frank Kaucic was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, MaryAnn; his grandson, David; and his sisters, Sylvia Kaucic and Rosemary Waful; and

WHEREAS, Frank Kaucic is survived by his children, Barbara (Matt) Brown and Cheryl (Tom) Norstrem; his grandchildren, David and Ben Brown, Cassie (Ella) Habryn-Norstrem, Melissa (Kevin) McMahon, and Christopher (Alexandria) Norstrem; his great-grandchildren, Camden and Sophia; his sister, Mary Lensing; and his sister-in-law, Betty Rygiel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank Joseph Kaucic and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Kaucic as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
