| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Wallace "Wallie" Erickson of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 21, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson was born in Moline to John and |
| 6 | | Olga (Becker)
Erickson on March 19, 1920; he served in the |
| 7 | | United States Army from 1942 to 1945 and married Rosaline |
| 8 | | Wexell at Cambridge Lutheran
Church on April 28, 1957; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson began his career at First National |
| 10 | | Bank of Moline in December of
1940; he worked there for 45 |
| 11 | | years and retired in January of 1986 as a senior vice
|
| 12 | | president; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson served as the city
treasurer for |
| 14 | | Moline and was a founding member and served on
committees for |
| 15 | | the Quad-City Chapter of the American Liver Foundation; he was |
| 16 | | a volunteer at Trinity Hospital in Moline, serving close to |
| 17 | | 4,500 hours; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson was a member of Thor Lodge 9 |
| 19 | | Independent Order of Vikings; he was a member of
First Lutheran |
| 20 | | Church of Moline, where he was very active and involved with |
| 21 | | all
aspects of the church, including serving as Sunday school |

| 1 | | teacher, Boy Scout
leader, council member, choir member, and |
| 2 | | Memorial Fund Treasurer; he was
involved with the Eastern |
| 3 | | Chapter Polka Club of Iowa, Junior Achievement, the
Moline |
| 4 | | Exchange Club, and the Moline American Legion Post 246; he |
| 5 | | enjoyed fishing, golfing, and trips to Graves
Lake in Remer, |
| 6 | | Minnesota for over 70 years; he enjoyed spending time
with his |
| 7 | | family and spending time outdoors; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Wallie Erickson is survived by his wife, Rosaline; |
| 9 | | his children, Karen (Terry) Thomasson, Joel (Mary) Erickson, |
| 10 | | and Kris (Brian) Keller;
eight grandchildren; and two |
| 11 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 14 | | Wallace "Wallie" Erickson, and extend our sincere condolences |
| 15 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be |
| 16 | | it further
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to the family of Wallie Erickson as an expression of |
| 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
