SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Thomas "Tom" Spanos Jr. of McHenry, who 
4passed away on March 16, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Spanos was born to Thomas and Adeline Spanos 
6on May 3, 1948; he married Alice Kopecky on July 8, 1967; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Tom Spanos was involved in Marriage Encounter and 
8worked with engaged couples at St. Mary's Church; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Tom Spanos  enjoyed working with his hands and 
10fishing in his free time; he loved being a part of his 
11grandchildren's lives and spending time with his family; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Tom Spanos was preceded in death by his parents 
13and his sister, Patricia Cloninger; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Tom Spanos is survived by his wife of 50 years, 
15Alice; his children, Thomas Spanos and Cynthia Reynolds; and 
16his grandchildren, Preston and Lars Reynolds; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Thomas Spanos Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to  the family of  Tom Spanos as an expression of our
