SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Bertha Andrews, of Chicago, who passed 
4away on May 14, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bertha Andrews was born in Hughes, Arkansas to 
6Henry and Bertha Driver on May 1, 1925; she attended school in 
7Hughes, Arkansas and later relocated to Chicago; she married 
8Charles Warr in 1955; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Bertha Andrews was employed at the Conrad Hilton 
10Hotel for many years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Bertha Andrews loved playing cards; she opened her 
12doors to many, as a mother, grandmother, and sitter; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Bertha Andrews was preceded in death by her 
14parents; her husband, Charles; her brothers, Henry Driver, 
15Eddie B. Driver, A.D. Driver, and Cleve Driver; and her 
16sisters, Celeste Herring and Ida Mae Rucker; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Bertha Andrews is survived by her brothers, Clyde 
18(Mary Ann) Driver and Steve (Marietta) Driver; her special 
19nieces, Jeannette and Pearline; and her many cousins, nieces, 
20nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Bertha Andrews and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Bertha Andrews as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
