| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William A. "Bill" Wolf; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was born in Rockford to CJ "Doc" and |
| 5 | | Mabel Frances Wolf on June 14, 1930; he graduated from |
| 6 | | Belvidere High School in 1947, where he was a member of the |
| 7 | | undefeated 1946 football team; he married Sara Tyson on April |
| 8 | | 26, 1952 and graduated from Lake Forest College shortly |
| 9 | | thereafter; he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at |
| 10 | | Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Wolf returned to Belvidere in 1954 and began |
| 12 | | working in the family automotive business, Wolf Chevrolet Sales |
| 13 | | Inc.; he became the dealer operator in August of 1962; he was |
| 14 | | involved with the Illinois Automobile Dealer Association |
| 15 | | (IADA), serving as board president in 1988, and the National |
| 16 | | Automobile Dealer Association (NADA), serving as the elected |
| 17 | | state of Illinois representative for 19 years; he received the |
| 18 | | Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award in 1993 and served on the |
| 19 | | Chevrolet National Dealer Council; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was a founding member of the Boone |
| 21 | | County Conservation District and the Sister Cities |
| 22 | | Association; he served as Belvidere Chamber of Commerce |
|

| 1 | | president and received its Doctor of Civic Betterment Award in |
| 2 | | 2011; he served on the Boone County Board, where he took an |
| 3 | | active role in construction of the Belvidere Public Safety |
| 4 | | Building; he was an active IOU Club member for 64 years and a |
| 5 | | past president; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was a lifelong member of St. James |
| 7 | | Catholic Church in Belvidere; he and Sara were active |
| 8 | | volunteers and enjoyed traveling with friends; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bill Wolf was preceded in death by his wife of |
| 10 | | over 66 years, Sara; his parents; his son, Thomas; his |
| 11 | | grandson, David; and his sister, Susan; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Bill Wolf is survived by his children, John |
| 13 | | (Candy) Wolf, Michael (Joyce) Wolf, Callie (Jim) Marrs, and |
| 14 | | Chris (Norman White) Wolf; his grandchildren, Janna (Dan) |
| 15 | | Earley, Scott (Katie) Wolf, Nickolas (Sarah) Wolf, Joseph |
| 16 | | (Char) Wolf, Frank Wolf, Mitch Wolf, Matthew Wolf, Mary Wolf, |
| 17 | | Katie (JC) Fanning, Greg (Katie) Marrs, Lisa (John) Liebgott, |
| 18 | | Jeff (Kelly) Marrs, Stephen Wolf, Aaron Wolf, and Alex Wolf; |
| 19 | | his great-grandchildren, Alice Earley, Maeve Earley, Kendall |
| 20 | | Wolf, Kyle Wolf, Ethan Wolf, Kiley Fanning, Ally Fanning, Henry |
| 21 | | Marrs, Nora Marrs, Amelia Marrs, Evelyn Marrs, Sawyer Marrs, |
| 22 | | and Griffin Marrs; and his brother, Jack (Peggy) Wolf; |

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 2 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 3 | | William A. "Bill" Wolf, and extend our sincere condolences to |
| 4 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 5 | | further

| 6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 7 | | presented to the family of Bill Wolf as an expression of our |
| 8 | | deepest sympathy.
