SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Robert F. "Bob" Seegers of Crystal Lake, 
4who passed away on July 5, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers was born in Crystal Lake to Christ and 
6Helen (Luethje) Seegers on November 8, 1932; he served in the 
7U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers founded Seegers Grain in 1958 and 
9Allendale, Inc. in 1984; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers was a director of the Illinois Grain 
11Feed Dealers Association, a committee person for the National 
12Grain and Feed Association, and vice president of the MCC 
13Foundation; he was on the board of directors for First Colonial 
14Bank and was involved with the Agricultural Board at the 
15University of Illinois; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers was involved with many organizations 
17throughout his life including, Blue Cross Blue Shield of 
18McHenry County, the  Prairie Grove School Board,  Cary Youth 
19Baseball, and, for 43 years, the Crystal Lake Rural Fire 
20Protection District; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers was a lifelong member of  the Immanuel 
2Lutheran Church, where he served in many ministries; he enjoyed 
3being a founding member of the C.L. Snow Tigers Snowmobile Club 
4and loved attending all of his children's and grandchildren's 
5school and sports activities; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers was preceded in death by his foster 
7brothers, Arthur and Ernest Neumann; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Bob Seegers is survived by his wife of 64 years, 
9Lillian; his children, Susan Zbierski, Mark (Julie) Seegers, 
10Russell (Cathy) Seegers, Robert Jr. (Jennifer) Seegers, and 
11Phillip (Marianne) Seegers; his grandchildren, Robert (Kate), 
12Randy (Sarah), Ryan (Carrie), Christopher, Jannelle, Kyle 
13(Whitney), Lauren, Brett, Cade, Kelsey, Blake, and Lucas; his 
14great-grandchildren, Charlie, Effie, Olivia, Asher, Caleb, and 
15Joanna; and all the beloved members of the Neumann families; 
16therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Robert F. "Bob" Seegers, and extend our sincere condolences to 
20his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
21further
  
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
