| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Edward "Ed" Walkowicz of East Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 14, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz was born in New York City to Michael |
| 6 | | and Margaret (Sozanski) Walkowicz on October 14, 1936; he |
| 7 | | served in the United States Marine Corps; he married Christine |
| 8 | | Ippen in Rockford on May 2, 1964; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz worked in sales for Quaker Oats for |
| 10 | | 28 years, Hormel Foods for five years, and Hershey for over 11 |
| 11 | | years; he retired at the age of 78; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz enjoyed traveling with his wife as |
| 13 | | she judged dog shows; they visited a total of 27 countries, but |
| 14 | | his favorite destination was Hawaii, where they celebrated |
| 15 | | their 50th wedding anniversary with the entire family; he was |
| 16 | | an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz was preceded in death by his parents |
| 18 | | and his brother, George Walkowitz; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz is survived by his wife, Christine; |
| 20 | | his children, Edward "Dean" Walkowicz, Teresa "Terri" |
