SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Robert Taylor of Rock Island, who passed 
4away on August 9, 2018; and
  
       
5    WHEREAS, Robert Taylor was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee on 
6July 8, 1939; he was raised by his grandfather, Manuel Taylor 
7and his mother, Hazel Taylor Harrison; he was a veteran of the 
8United States Army; he married Dorothy Mae Thompson in Rock 
9Island on January 3, 2011; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Taylor worked as a foreman at Navistar and 
11retired in 2000 after 42 years of service; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Taylor was a member of the Greater Antioch 
13Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed watching 
14sports, playing pool, and dancing; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Taylor was preceded in death by his 
16parents; his daughter, India Taylor; and his grandson, Eric 
17Cunningham; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Robert Taylor is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 
19his children, Dale Ganaway, Bryant (Katie) Payton, Marilyn 
20(Chuck) McCauley, Kim (Frank) Cunningham, and Robbianne

1Henderson; his 11 grandchildren; his 25 great-grandchildren; 
2his great-great-grandchild; and his brother, Freddie Taylor; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Robert Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
7friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Robert Taylor as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
