| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Leroy Edward Knudsen of Woodstock, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 16, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leroy Knudsen was born in Wabach, Nebraska to Oluf |
| 6 | | and Margaret Knudsen on December 24, 1932; he served in the |
| 7 | | United States Army and was stationed in Korea at the end of the |
| 8 | | Korean War; he married Carol Emricson on June 15, 1957; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Leroy Knudsen was a tool-and-die machinist for |
| 10 | | many years; he began his career in Woodstock; in 1999, he |
| 11 | | retired from the Mold Rite Tool & Die in Addison; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Leroy Knudsen was a long-standing member of the |
| 13 | | Woodstock VFW and a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in |
| 14 | | Woodstock, where he volunteered every week and enjoyed |
| 15 | | socializing with the "day-time drop ins"; shortly after his |
| 16 | | retirement, he and Carol moved to rural Woodstock and enjoyed |
| 17 | | the country life; the door to the family's home was always |
| 18 | | open, and he treasured the visits from friends, neighbors, and |
| 19 | | family, as well as time spent with his grandchildren; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Leroy Knudsen was preceded in death by his |
| 21 | | parents; his sister, Wilma Knudsen Moore; and his |
