SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jens A. "Jay" Yambert M.D. of Urbana, who passed away on August 31, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Yambert was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Paul and Carla Yambert on May 9, 1958; he graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1981 and finished his residency in internal medicine at Marshfield Clinic in 1984; he married Rochelle Renee Kallenbach on January 20, 1984; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Yambert worked as an Emergency Room physician in Champaign-Urbana for over 25 years; he then worked at convenient care in Danville; he was known for his ability to treat patients well and professionally and was usually able to identify rare diseases or ailments; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Yambert lived life to the fullest and made the most of each day; he had a contagious smile and infectious laugh; he enjoyed traveling, hiking, running, playing cards, enjoying meals with friends, and spending time with his children and grandchildren; he was always willing to extend a hand to those in need; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Yambert was preceded in death by his brother, Nels Yambert; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Yambert is survived by his parents; his wife, Shelly; his brothers, Jon and Karl Yambert, and their wives; his sister, Laura Reeder, and her husband; his daughters, Janelle Yambert and Jenna Galli, and their husbands; his sons, Joel, Jason, and Jeff Yambert, and their wives; his three grandsons; his granddaughter; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jens A. "Jay" Yambert M.D. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dr. Yambert as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
