SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry L. Verdick of Port Byron, who
4passed away on September 1, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was born in Morrison to Clarence and
6Katherine (Price) Verdick on February 4, 1947; he graduated
7from Manlius High School and served in the United States Army;
8he married Glenda Fordham, but the marriage ended; he later
9married Sherie M. Powers in Sheffield on April 11, 1981; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was employed at the Timberlyn
11Lighting Company in Geneseo, where he was the general manager
12for many years before his retirement; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was a member of the Messiah Lutheran
14Church in Port Byron; he enjoyed rolle bolle and attending
15auctions and garage sales; most of all, he loved the time he
16spent with his family and grand-puppies; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was preceded in death by his mother,
18Katherine, and by his son, Adam John Verdick; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick is survived by his wife, Sherie; his
20son, Rob Verdick; his daughter, Jessica (Cody) Vipond; his

1father, Clarence Verdick; his grandchildren, Jonna, Jerry, and
2Clint Verdick; his great-grandchildren, Max and Adam Lee; and
3his siblings, Judy (Tom) Wallace, Steve (Mary) Verdick, and
4Bruce (Lisa) Verdick; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Jerry L. Verdick, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Jerry Verdick as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
