| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Jerry L. Verdick of Port Byron, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 1, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was born in Morrison to Clarence and |
| 6 | | Katherine (Price) Verdick on February 4, 1947; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Manlius High School and served in the United States Army; |
| 8 | | he married Glenda Fordham, but the marriage ended; he later |
| 9 | | married Sherie M. Powers in Sheffield on April 11, 1981; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was employed at the Timberlyn |
| 11 | | Lighting Company in Geneseo, where he was the general manager |
| 12 | | for many years before his retirement; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was a member of the Messiah Lutheran |
| 14 | | Church in Port Byron; he enjoyed rolle bolle and attending |
| 15 | | auctions and garage sales; most of all, he loved the time he |
| 16 | | spent with his family and grand-puppies; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick was preceded in death by his mother, |
| 18 | | Katherine, and by his son, Adam John Verdick; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Verdick is survived by his wife, Sherie; his |
| 20 | | son, Rob Verdick; his daughter, Jessica (Cody) Vipond; his |
