| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William Camden "Cam" Gass of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 17, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Cam Gass was born in Hastings, Nebraska to Melvin |
| 6 | | Camden and Cecilia Wieland Gass on December 11, 1933; he served |
| 7 | | in the U.S. Army and married Arlene Darby in 1962; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Cam Gass was employed in the Engineering Standards |
| 9 | | department by Deere and Company for 30 years; he retired in |
| 10 | | 2001; he was a member of the Engineering Graphics Committee for |
| 11 | | the International Standards Organization; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Cam Gass enjoyed swimming and swam a mile a day |
| 13 | | until he was 79 years old; his pride and joy were his sons and |
| 14 | | grandchildren; he also enjoyed traveling all over the world and |
| 15 | | visited over 42 countries; he cherished the time he spent with |
| 16 | | friends and was always on the go; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Cam Gass was preceded in death by his sister, |
| 18 | | Leila Hemmingsen, and his former wife and good friend, Arlene; |
| 19 | | and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Cam Gass is survived by his sons, William C. |
