| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Dan E. Parr, who passed away on September |
| 4 | | 8, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dan Parr was born
in Waukegan to Dan Parr and |
| 6 | | Alice Hilda (Steele) on August 22, 1925; he served in the U.S. |
| 7 | | Air Force as a navigator from 1944 to 1946; he married Dorothy |
| 8 | | Pasiewicz, and they had 54 years together and raised two |
| 9 | | daughters; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dan Parr built a career in manufacturing sales; he |
| 11 | | retired after 38 years with
Fansteel/HK Porter; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dan Parr met Mary (Mavon) Ellmore in Dunedin, |
| 13 | | Florida in 2001; he enjoyed having family and friends visit him |
| 14 | | in Florida and at his home at Pine Lake in
Clintonville, |
| 15 | | Wisconsin; at the age of 86,
he was proud to participate in an |
| 16 | | Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dan Parr was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 18 | | Dorothy (Pasiewicz); his daughter, Geraldine Parr; his |
| 19 | | parents; his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Shisler; and his |
| 20 | | sons-in-law, Kurt McKenzie and Gerald T. Altman; and
