SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Donald Edward "Don" Kostylo of Gurnee, 
4who passed away on September 16, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Kostylo was born in Waukegan to Ed and Ann 
6Kostylo on December 4, 1932; he graduated from Waukegan High 
7School in 1950; he attended Illinois State University and the 
8University of Illinois; he served in the United States Army and 
9was a veteran of the Korean War; he was honorably discharged in 
101954; he married Joann Schwarz in 1957; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Don Kostylo worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 
12many years; he was also skilled at remodeling homes, including 
13his own; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Don Kostylo was active with the Boy Scouts; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Don Kostylo was an avid fan of the Bears, Bulls, 
16Cubs, and Notre Dame; he enjoyed traveling with his wife, 
17including trips to Italy and Hawaii and visits to their 
18children and grandchildren; he met a group of high school 
19friends for breakfast each month and loved to play cards with a 
20regular crowd; he and his wife enjoyed a weekly game of 
21Dominoes with their good friends, Eddie and Doris Richter; he

1and his wife enjoyed countless plays and musicals; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Don Kostylo is survived by his wife, Joann; his 
3children, Scott (Maria) Kostylo, Cyndi (Paul Klecka) Kostylo, 
4Kristine (Mark) Strack, and Michael (Desiree) Kostylo; his 
5grandchildren, Joseph (Ari Yarwood) and Adam Kostylo, Michael, 
6Nick, and Sam Stadlberger, Vince, Tony, Liz, and Nick Strack, 
7Evan Kostylo, and Aidan Delgado; his great-grandchild, Jayden; 
8and his brother-in-law, Larry (Kathy) Schwarz and niece, 
9Stacey; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
12Donald Edward "Don" Kostylo and extend our sincere condolences 
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
14it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the family of Don Kostylo as an expression of our 
17deepest sympathy.
