SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty Carolyn Frank of Moline, who passed
4away on October 26, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Frank was born in Bushnell to George and
6Margaret Ann (Sell) Frank on September 14, 1922; she served as
7a musician in the Women's Reserve of the United States Coast
8Guard during World War II and was proud to have played taps at
9President Franklin Roosevelt's funeral in Washington D.C.;
10following the war, she toured the world with The Hormel Girls,
11an all girl orchestra sponsored by the Hormel Company; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Betty Frank worked as a music and physical
13education teacher at Riverdale High School, Port Byron; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Betty Frank belonged to Two Rivers United
15Methodist Church in Rock Island; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Betty Frank was preceded in death by her brother,
17Daniel Frank Jr.; her half-siblings, John Coe, Edele Coe, and
18Edna Bartley; and her great-nephew, Scott Hillyer; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Betty Frank is survived by her nephews, Dan Frank
20Jr., Mike (Belinda) Frank, and Don Coe; her nieces, Debbie

1Smith and Shirley (Mel) Larson; and her great-nieces and
2great-nephews and their spouses, Alan and Chris Coe, Alinda and
3Gary Littrel, Lisa and Jeff Blumenstein, Daniel James and Cary
4Frank, Mike Frank Jr., Ian Frank, Derek and Nicole Frank, Chris
5Hillyer, Cheri and Don Doolin, Kathy and Mark Leathers, James
6and Jean Hillyer, and Roberta and JJ Borski; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Betty Carolyn Frank and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Betty Frank as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
