SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Steven Elliot Bortko of Belleville, who 
4passed away on November 18, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Steven Bortko was born in Maryville to Michael and 
6Patricia (Tietze) Bortko on August 23, 1978; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Steven Bortko was employed as an operating 
8engineer by the City of Belleville; he was a member of 
9Operating Engineer's Local #148; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Steven Bortko enjoyed playing guitar and drums and 
11drawing; he also enjoyed trying new recipes and perfecting his 
12meat smoking skills; most of all, he loved spending time with 
13his daughters, his cat, and his friends; he had a great sense 
14of humor and will be missed by many; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Steven Bortko was preceded in death by his 
16daughter, Abigail Rose Bortko; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Steven Bortko is survived by his parents; his 
18significant other and the love of his life, Crystal Ehlen; his 
19children, Zoe Bortko and Angel Hettenhausen; his sister, Kate 
20Bortko; his aunts, MariLu King and Melody Anders; his uncle,

1Dennis Bortko; and his many cousins and friends; therefore, be

3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Steven Elliot Bortko and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Steven Bortko as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
