AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 196 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 196, AS AMENDED, by 
3replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 
4following:

 
5    "Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended  by adding 
6Section 5.4 as follows:
 
7    (225 ILCS 10/5.4 new)
8    Sec. 5.4. Child care facilities; Child and Adult Care Food 
9Program. Child care facilities that provide meal services to 
10children in their care shall, if eligible, apply for the 
11federally funded Child and Adult Care Food Program administered 
12by the State Board of Education. The Department of Children and 
13Family Services shall allow a child care facility to opt out of 
14the requirements of this Section, but that child care facility 
15must do so in writing, in a form prescribed by the Department 
16of Children and Family Services.

1    The State Board of Education shall provide to child care 
2facilities information regarding the federally funded Child 
3and Adult Care Food Program, including, but not limited to, 
4information on the application process and eligibility for the 
5program.".
