| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the

| 5 | | Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section |
| 6 | | 2605-440 as follows:

| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2605/2605-440 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2605-440. Assessments; online payment. The Department |
| 9 | | shall establish an electronic system to accept online payments |
| 10 | | for assessments for certain minor traffic violations issued |
| 11 | | under the Criminal and Traffic Assessment Act. The Department |
| 12 | | shall determine which violations are subject to the system and |
| 13 | | shall provide notice to a person who is eligible for its use. |
| 14 | | The Department shall charge a nominal fee of $2.50 for each |
| 15 | | transaction to maintain the system. The Department may adopt |
| 16 | | rules to implement this Section.
