| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 3-42.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 805/3-42.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-42.5. Affordable housing for students. The board of |
| 8 | | trustees of a community college district may develop affordable |
| 9 | | housing for community college students in coordination with the |
| 10 | | Housing Authority having jurisdiction of the area where the |
| 11 | | community college is located.

| 12 | | Section 10. The Housing Authorities Act is amended by |
| 13 | | adding Section 33 as follows:
|

| 15 | | Sec. 33. Affordable housing for community college |
| 16 | | students. In addition to the powers conferred by other |
| 17 | | provisions of this Act, a Housing Authority may develop |
| 18 | | affordable housing for community college students in |
| 19 | | coordination with the board of trustees of any community |
| 20 | | college within the Housing Authority's area of operation.
