| 1 | | AN ACT concerning homeless shelters.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
| 5 | | Feminine Hygiene Products For The Homeless Act.
|
| 6 | | Section 5. Access to feminine hygiene products. Feminine |
| 7 | | hygiene products, including, but not limited to, sanitary |
| 8 | | napkins, tampons, and panty liners, shall be available free of |
| 9 | | charge at all homeless shelters that provide temporary housing |
| 10 | | assistance to women or youth. As used in this Act, "homeless |
| 11 | | shelter" means a supervised publicly or privately operated |
| 12 | | shelter designed to provide temporary living accommodations to |
| 13 | | individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate residence.
