Amends the Public Building Commission Act. Provides that a county or a county's Public Building Commission may enter into a design-build contract that does not include the services of an architect for projects under $200,000. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Building Commission Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 14.4 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (50 ILCS 20/14.4 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 14.4. Use of architect for projects under $200,000. |
| 8 | | Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a county or a |
| 9 | | county's Commission may enter into a design-build contract that |
| 10 | | does not include the services of an architect for projects |
| 11 | | under $200,000.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law.
