Amends the Illinois Fire Protection Training Act, Illinois Municipal Code, and Fire Protection District Act. Provides that a firefighter or firefighter trainee shall not be required to carry fire protective clothing and safety and protective equipment that weighs more than 75 pounds or more than 50% of the firefighter's weight, whichever is less. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Fire Protection Training Act is |
| 5 | | amended by adding Section 11.5 as follows: |
| 6 | | (50 ILCS 740/11.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 11.5. Maximum weight a trainee may carry. The Office |
| 8 | | must adopt a rule or rules limiting the maximum weight of fire |
| 9 | | protective clothing and safety and protective equipment that a |
| 10 | | trainee may carry to 75 pounds or more than 50% of the |
| 11 | | trainee's weight, whichever is less. |
| 12 | | Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 13 | | adding Section 11-6-11 as follows: |
