| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 11-710 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/11-710) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-710)

| 7 | | Sec. 11-710. Following too closely. (a) The The driver of
a |
| 8 | | motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely
|
| 9 | | than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the
speed |
| 10 | | of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the |
| 11 | | highway.
|
| 12 | | (b) The driver of any truck or motor vehicle
drawing |
| 13 | | another vehicle
when traveling upon a roadway outside of a |
| 14 | | business or
residence district and which is following another |
| 15 | | truck or
motor vehicle drawing another vehicle shall,
whenever |
| 16 | | conditions permit, leave sufficient space so that
an overtaking |

danger, except |
